Topic Overview

This topic will cover communicating effectively with clients who have diverse cultural backgrounds. Language barriers can at times be difficult. Attendees will learn how to adjust their presentation style to cater for diversity and inclusivity at meetings – whether the meetings be in person or convened via electronic means, as well as what documentation should be included in meeting packs to cater for different language groups. Examples of documentation will be provided.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will gain an understanding of:

• Key cultural differences influencing levels of understanding and behavioural norms at meetings
• Strategies to cater for cultural differences at meetings
• Greeting and interacting with owners of various common ethnicities
• Using translation services at meetings

Assessment Delivery and Certificates 

Assessments are multiple-choice. Access to assessments is provided to students on the SCA e-Learning Platform.

Upon successful completion of assessments, students will receive their Certificates via email, and can download them from the SCA e-Learning Platform at their convenience.
