sca-271016-portraits-14Curious to know more about the new SCA (NSW) President? We’re happy to satisfy that curiosity and so is he. We asked Chris to tell us about himself, his achievements and what advice he would like to impart. To begin, here is a little bit about this remarkable man.

Chris is joint Managing Director of the Bright & Duggan Property Group. The Group operates leading strata, facilities and property management companies across Australia including Bright & Duggan, Cambridge Management Services (NSW, QLD VIC, WA), Sargeant Strata (QLD), Rhodes Realty (NSW), Focus Strata & Community Management (QLD) Eastern Suburbs Strata (NSW), Peninsula Strata (NSW) and City Strata (ACT).

The Group employs 200 strata professionals nationally and is recognised a leader in the strata industry Australia-wide, with Bright & Duggan winning Strata Management Business of the Year in 2015 and 2016.

Chris is a sought-after strata development consultant having assisted with the consultancy and establishment of some of Australia’s most recognised and complex development projects, including the Barangaroo South precinct. This is quite an achievement for someone who is 38 years old and is a result of living and breathing strata.

He is also passionate about environmental issues and has managed properties that had strong environmental elements. Chris says that this takes a special kind of strata manager as you need to understand the building and what the owners want to achieve in order to help them maintain that vision.

Another passion for Chris is growing people to be the best they can. He enjoys working with people as they evolve as people and professionals. This includes staff, industry peers and anyone that needs or wants help. He has benefitted greatly from those willing to invest in him and give their time, experience and guidance and now Chris is relishing the opportunity to give back in the same manner.

Chris has three achievements he is very proud to showcase. The first is his recent election to the role of SCA (NSW) President. He says this is an honour and responsibility that he is excited to assume at this significant time for members during legislative and sector transition.

The second is working with some of the smartest minds in strata at Bright & Duggan. Chris enjoys facing significant challenges, capitalising on opportunities and working on strategies that determine how to better deliver services. This made even more fulfilling when it’s done with a trusted team who you like working with.

The last achievement for Chris is having the opportunity to grow a family business, that his father continues to be an integral part of, into a significant national player. To him this has been personally rewarding.
