Topic Overview
Strata Managers are often required to achieve successful outcomes in situations where competing interests result in conflict. This session will focus our attention on the development of soft skills that aid with the de-escalation of heated situations and overcome conflict to achieve outcomes.
Conflict management can be approached using a variety of different styles. While these styles may differ, every method utilises the same management skills, being:
- Active Listening
- Emotional Intelligence
- Patience
- Impartiality
- Positivity
- Open Communication
- Mediation
Learning Outcomes
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- How to appropriately de-escalate heated situations and deal with conflict resolution
- A variety of different management styles to prevent or assist with conflict resolution
- The right time to exercise each management skill to prevent or assist with conflict resolution

Assessment Delivery and Certificates
Assessments are multiple-choice. Access to assessments is provided to students on the SCA e-Learning Platform.
Upon successful completion of assessments, students will receive their Certificates via email, and can download them from the SCA e-Learning Platform at their convenience.
