Topic Overview
As legislation evolves, it is important for Licence holders to stay abreast of changes in the industry. These changes may include updates to the Strata Schemes Management Act, Community Land Management Act, cladding compliance, and fire certification to name a few. These sessions will be cover recent updates to enable participants to be well-informed on the changes that may affect their portfolio(s).
The landscape for fire compliance changed in 2020 with the implementation of the Competent Fire Safety Practitioner Accreditation Scheme.
The treatment of Aluminium Composite Panels (ACP) has evolved since it was first identified as an issue because of the Grenfell fire in London and locally in the Lacrosse fire in Melbourne. Initially reporting mechanisms via state run registration regimes were launched, followed by various products being banned in NSW where the core comprised of more than 30% polyethylene (PE).

- Recent legislative changes affecting the strata industry
- What to expect from the Community Land Management Act 2020
- The changes that have occurred with implementation of the Competent Fire Safety Practitioner Accreditation Scheme
- How to find accredited contractors using the Fire Protection Association Australia (FPAA) online register
- How cladding effected buildings are being managed to adhere to local council removal orders
