As you read this around 270 delegates from the NSW strata industry are attending day one of the 2016 Annual Convention. This year is extra special and super important as we get together before the new legislation takes effect from 30 November 2016.
It is therefore no coincidence that our theme this year is “Evolve”. This year’s program is packed with information aimed at assisting our members to evolve with the changes. We’ve divided it into two days – day one for strata managers and day two for principals – bearing in mind that some of our members fit in to both audiences SCA (NSW) has aimed for a program that will give a good mix of information, updates and opportunities to discuss the upcoming changes.
This year’s keynote speaker is Mr John McGrath. If you want an example of someone who is constantly evolving it’s him and we are all excited to hear what he has to say.
I would also like to acknowledge the support provided to us by our sponsors, which enables us to offer our members the Annual Convention and various other educational and social opportunities throughout the year.
At the end of today we will also hold our Annual General Meeting. We say goodbye to one of our Board members who will not be seeking re-election. Thank you to Deanne Holz for your time, advice and leadership while on the SCA (NSW) Board.
Details of the 2017 Board will be posted on our website soon after the AGM.
It will be a busy, challenging month in November for NSW but we have looked forward to this for a long time – bring it on.
Rachel Lynn,
SCA (NSW) General Manager
