Topic Overview
The objective of this topic is to provide an overview of the Short-term Rental Accommodation Code of Conduct (the STRA Code) which commenced on 18 December 2020.
On completion of this topic a person will be able to demonstrate competency in the identified learning outcomes.
Learning Outcomes
A person who demonstrates competency in this topic will be able to identify the main changes introduced by the STRA Code, including but not limited to:
- The objectives of the STRA Code
- the industry participants covered, requirements for letting agents, facilitators, guests, letting agents and facilitators.
- How complaints must be dealt with under the STRA Code, including the role of Fair Trading, councils in enforcing planning laws, and the role of the Police in enforcing criminal laws
- Compliance and enforcement powers available to Fair Trading for breaches of the Code and penalties for non-compliance
Assessment Delivery and Certificates
Assessments are multiple-choice. Access to assessments is provided to students on the SCA e-Learning Platform.
Upon successful completion of assessments, students will receive their Certificates via email, and can download them from the SCA e-Learning Platform at their convenience.
