Topic Overview
In recent times fraud has presented itself in several strata businesses where employees have manipulated data for their own interests. Fraud also occurs where data is stolen or hacked from a business’s data base. This session will focus on key areas of fraud prevention and how to recognise it. Attendees will be presented with five key precaution techniques that can be taken to mitigate the risk of fraud (including invoicing) occurring. Several Case studies will be provided to give context around fraud prevention.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will gain an understanding of:
- How to recognise fraud
- How to deal with fraudulent activity once suspected or identified
- Escalation processes of fraudulent activity
- Key precautions required
- How to identify manipulation of data
Understanding the importance of internal controls such as segregation of duties
