2024 Board Nominations have now closed

Nominations have now closed for the 2024 SCA NSW Board of Directors elections

The following positions representing each of the chapters are vacant:

Professional Strata Manager Member | 6 Positions
Strata Services Member | 3 Positions

Nomination Process

If you are interested in nominating yourself, please note the following:

  • To nominate you must be a financial member;
  • You can only nominate for the Board position associated with your membership category;
  • Any voting Member of the Company may be nominated for election as a Director for the Chapter of which they are a member by two other Voting Members who are entitled to vote and who are members of the same Chapter as the candidate;
  • The nomination must be in writing, signed by the candidate and the nominating persons and lodged by 5:00 pm Friday, 30 August 2024 via email to president.nsw@strata.community
  • Nominations will not be accepted after this time, your responsibility is to ensure your nomination is received by SCA (NSW) before the deadline.
  • To comply with the transitional arrangements set out in the constitution, the Nominations Committee will group the elected Directors into 3 groups as follows: 

    • Group A will comprise two (2) PSM directors and one (1) Strata Service Director. Directors in group A will serve a three-year (3) year term until the conclusion of the 2027 AGM. 

    • Group B will comprise two (2) PSM directors and one (1) Strata Service Director. Directors in group B will serve a two-year (2) year term until the conclusion of the 2026 AGM

    • Group C will comprise two (2) PSM directors and one (1) Strata Service Director. Directors in group C will serve a one-year (1) year term until the conclusion of the 2025 AGM. 

  • The nomination committee will decide the process for allocating an elected director’s term lengths. 

Nominees must provide the following information:

  • Completed and signed nomination form (see below)
  • Digital head and shoulders image of no less than 300 dpi; and
  • All nominees will also be asked to attend and present for 2 minutes at the AGM  
  • A video submission, no more than 3 minutes in length, including details of who you are and why you wish to be elected for the position you have nominated. 

All nominations will be received until 5:00 pm Friday, 30 August 2024.  As Board nominations are received and comply with the terms of the Constitution, they will be listed on the SCA NSW website.

AGM Meeting

This year the AGM will be held in person on 23 October at the Hyatt Regency, Sydney. In accordance with the Constitution, the final list of candidates and voting information will be issued to members at least 21 days prior. 

In accordance with the Constitution, the 2023/24 Annual Report, formal Notice of Meeting, Proxy forms, and Pre-Meeting Voting Forms will be forwarded to members at least 21 days before the AGM.

A list of candidates and the persons who nominated them will also be displayed at the SCA (NSW) registered office for the three (3) business days immediately preceding the general meeting. The registered office of SCA NSW is Level 3, 123 Walker street, North Sydney.
